Getting started
Auto-Scheduler takes the tasks you enter, each with a duration and a priority and optionally a due date, and books them into free time inside the working hours you set. You describe the work; the app decides when it happens.
The first schedule
Start by setting your working hours in Settings, since the scheduler only ever places tasks inside blocks you've marked as available. From there, add a task or two from Create Task, giving each a duration and a priority, and run Auto-Schedule from the dashboard. Within a second or two the tasks will appear on your calendar in the next open slot that fits, and you can keep adding tasks and re-running the scheduler as your day fills in.
Google Calendar is optional
You can use the whole app, including scheduling, without ever connecting a Google account. Connecting one adds two things: your existing events count toward conflict detection so tasks are never booked over a meeting you already have, and your scheduled tasks appear as real events on your phone and everywhere else you check your calendar. See Connecting Google Calendar for what that actually grants us access to.
If something looks wrong
How Auto-Scheduling Works covers the priority and due-date weighting that decides task order, and Managing Your Schedule covers locking a task in place, postponing it, and what happens when a scheduling run can't find room for something. If you're stuck on anything else, write to us at info@auto-scheduler.net and we'll help directly.
